Boiler Upgrade Grants

On the 1st April 2022 the Government introduced The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) to encourage property owners to install low carbon heating systems.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme allows consumers to apply for a one-off grant payment of:

£5000 towards the cost of an air source heat pump or biomass installation

or

£6000 towards the cost of a ground source heat pump installation

Biomass installations are only supported in limited circumstances.
To be eligible to apply for the grant you must be a home or small business owner and the building must have had an EPC issued within the last 10 years.

The Governments’ Business and Energy Secretary quotes:

“Recent volatile global gas prices have highlighted the need to double down on our efforts to reduce Britain’s reliance on fossil fuels and move away from gas boilers over the coming decade to protect consumers in the long term.

We expect low carbon heating systems to become the obvious, affordable choice for consumers.”
